2026 Pillar Project

The Trucksville United Methodist Church, serving the Back Mountain of Luzerne County since 1844, has announced a year-long series of events to celebrate its history and look forward to the future. The church located at 40 Knob Hill Road has a long history of serving as a pillar of faith, hope, and community.

The church recently replaced it's 4 facade pillars to stand as a beautiful symbol of its guiding light working into our community.

The congregation welcomes the community to connect, encourage, and serve. The campus is home to a vibrant Methodist congregation, an early childhood education center, a community food pantry, a service supporting women and children, and numerous missionary and outreach ministries that have blessed generations.

The community, neighbors, and friends are invited to join in the Pillars Vision Celebration, a yearlong journey honoring the past, recognizing the present, and investing in the future of the church and community.

Each of the four new pillars represents a foundational value of TUMC:

1. Pillar of Faith & Christian Purpose

2. Pillar of Community Care & Stewardship

Serving others in meaningful ways—meeting needs, and strengthening community bonds.

3. Pillar of Historical Preservation

Honoring the founding members of TUMC and celebrating the individuals who faithfully care for and maintain our facilities and ministries.

4. Pillar of Future Provision

Building a secure foundation for generations to come through a dedicated campaign that supports financial stability, discipleship growth, and the continued mission of TUMC.

Throughout 2026, TUMC will host four community events, each inspired by the pillar’s vision and aligned with meaningful holidays and activities that bring together the past, present, and future of our faith community.
